Trail type: Botanical trails
Trail difficulty: Easy
On the longer botanical trail around Korte, you will come across typical habitats on the flysch geological parent material, such as various overgrown grasslands, but also some elements of the cultural landscape, such as vineyards and fields. The path will lead you through a typical secondary group of the European hop-hornbeam and autumn moor grass. The trail is rich in mainly woody species typical of transitional climate zones, such as the European hop-hornbeam (Ostrya carpinifolia), manna ash (Fraxinus ornus), downy oak (Quercus pubescens), wild service tree (Sorbus torminalis) and bladder senna (Colutea arborescens). The landscape is interspersed with numerous small streams that provide pleasant coolness to the traveler even in summer. The trail then leaves the forest near the village of Cetore and returns to Korte through a typical Istrian cultural landscape.
